Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to design HV transmission lines, apply industry standards, and prepare bid and construction documents. The role involves coordinating with a multi-person Leidos team and interfacing with clients, planners, environmental teams, and construction personnel.

The position requires a Civil Engineering degree and 4+ years of utility transmission design experience, with hands-on use of PLS-CADD, LPILE/FAD, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and at least four years’ experience in electric utility transmission design.
• Experience reviewing full transmission line designs including PLS-CADD models, foundations, material, plan and profiles, and construction packages.
• Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE standards; procurement processes; project schedules; and construction work packages.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently; strong client communication.
• Willingness to travel to client sites and perform field work when required.
• Technical tools: PLS-CADD, POLE, LPILE/FAD, MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Design high-voltage overhead and underground transmission lines from 46kV to 345kV.
• Apply NESC/ASCE standards and prepare bidding documents, specs, and construction packages.
• Interface with clients, project planning, environmental, permitting, and construction personnel.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals; support bid efforts.
