Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to join a dynamic team handling HV transmission projects from 46 kV to 345 kV, including overhead and underground systems. Remote work is possible with occasional site visits.

You will apply NESC/ASCE standards, develop project scopes and bids, review designs (PLS-CADD, POLE), and coordinate with clients and project teams. A Civil Engineering degree and 4+ years of experience are required; EIT/FE/PE preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and minimum of four (4) years of prior relevant experience in the design of electric utility transmission systems.
• Experience in reviewing full transmission line designs including PLS-CADD models, foundations, material, plan and profiles, and construction packages.
• Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE code requirements; construction specifications; material procurement process; project schedules; and construction work packages.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals
• Ability to work effectively in team environment but also able to work independently
• Proven ability to communicate with clients and project teams

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer electric transmission lines (overhead and underground) from 46 kV to 345 kV.
• Review transmission line designs including PLS-CADD models, foundations and construction packages.
• Apply NESC, ACI, AISC and ASCE standards to projects; prepare bidding documents and construction plans.
• Develop project scopes, budgets and proposals; interface with clients and internal teams.
• Travel to client sites as required and coordinate with environmental and permitting teams.
