Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to join a fast-paced team, focusing on electric transmission line design for HV overhead and underground systems (46kV–345kV). The role requires applying NESC, ASCE, ACI/AISC standards, and delivering bidding documents, plans, and procurement packages.

Remote-based in Michigan's Lower Peninsula with regular site visits across the client’s territory; travel to client sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and minimum of four (4) years of prior relevant experience in the design of electric utility transmission systems.
• Experience in reviewing full transmission line designs including PLS-CADD models, foundations, material, plan and profiles, and construction packages.
• Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE code requirements; construction specifications; material procurement process; project schedules; and construction work packages.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals
• Ability to work effectively in team environment but also able to work independently
• Proven ability to communicate with clients and project teams
• Work in client office is a possibility and/or periodic travel may be required

Responsibilities

• Design HV overhead and underground transmission lines from 46kV to 345 kV.
• Prepare bidding documents, plans, specifications, and procurement/construction packages.
• Draft plans and specifications; prepare material procurement and construction documents.
• Interface with clients, project planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management personnel.
