Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to join a dynamic team focused on electric transmission design for HV overhead and underground systems from 46kV to 345kV. The role requires applying NESC, ASCE, ACI, and AISC standards and producing bidding documents, plans, specifications, and procurement/construction packages, interfacing with clients and planning teams.

This 100% remote position is based in Michigan's Lower Peninsula with regular site visits across the utility's

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and at least four years’ experience in electric utility transmission design.
Experience reviewing full transmission line designs including PLS-CADD models, foundations, materials, and construction packages.
Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE code requirements; procurement processes and project schedules.
Ability to develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals; strong client communication.
Team-oriented but capable of independent work; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

Design electric utility transmission systems (HV overhead and underground) from 46 kV to 345 kV.
Prepare bidding documents, drafts of plans and specifications, and procurement/construction documents.
Apply standards (NESC, ASCE, ACI, AISC) in engineering and design work.
Interface with clients, project planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management personnel.
Utilize PLS-CADD/POLE, LPILE or FAD tools; coordinate with Leidos team.
