Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Lead Transmission Line Engineer to join a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment. The role focuses on high-voltage transmission line design for overhead and underground systems from 46 kV to 345 kV, applying NESC, ASCE, ACI, and other standards.

Responsibilities include engineering analyses, bidding documents, and plans, with client interface and construction management collaboration. The position is 100% remote with regular site visits across the client's service

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in reviewing full transmission line designs including PLS-CADD models, foundations, material, plan and profiles, and construction packages.
• Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE code requirements; construction specifications; material procurement process; project schedules; and construction work packages.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals.
• Ability to work effectively in team environment but also able to work independently.
• Proven ability to communicate with clients and project teams.
• Work in client office is a possibility and/or periodic travel may be required.
• Program Expertise: PLS-CADD and POLE; LPILE or FAD Tools; Microsoft Office.
• Preferred Experience: EIT, FE, or Professional Engineer (PE) License; Bentley MicroStation; Bentley ProjectWise; Mathcad; Autodesk AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Solve challenging problems in electric transmission as a Lead Transmission Line Engineer on HV overhead and underground systems.
• Apply standards in the engineering and design of overhead systems, voltage conversion, capacity, and infrastructure replacement projects.
• Prepare bidding documents, draft plans and specifications, and prepare material procurement and construction documents.
• Interface with clients, project planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management personnel.
