Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Senior Manager of Software Engineering to lead a high performing team delivering innovative IT applications. You will guide software engineers across multiple projects, steering design, development, and integration to meet business needs in the Medicaid space.

You will partner with delivery and product managers, drive lifecycle improvements, manage staffing and performance, and ensure quality through metrics and dashboards. This is a fully remote role with travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field and 7+ years of professional experience.
• Project management planning experience (1-3 years) required
• Technical Medicaid experience (3-5 years) required
• Maintenance & Operation (M&O) experience required
• Technical leadership experience required

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction to the software engineers within the IT Applications Development team in support of application design, software development, and software integration.
• Define the key priorities in pursuit of the vision and goals associated with the Software Engineering practice.
• Ensure Software Engineering staff are following best practices around application design, software development, and software integration throughout the system development lifecycle.
• Leads and directs the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination.
• Collaborate with delivery managers and product managers to support product delivery and enhancements.
• Drive reporting, dashboards, metrics, and KPIs to present status data visually.
