Job summary

Lumen is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in a US remote position to design, develop, and maintain scalable software within an Agile team, focusing on GoLang and Java.

You will partner with product and technical teams to create robust, testable solutions, participate in code reviews, and drive deployment. This role emphasizes performance, security, and reliability across cloud and AI workloads.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience.
• Experience with GoLang and Java.
• Experience with Temporal Workflow and Oracle RDBMS/PLSQL.
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies and practices.
• Experience with Agile practices and code reviews.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and cloud services like AKS/Service Bus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, code, test, and debug new software in an Agile Scrum team.
• Collaborate with business and technical staff to meet requirements.
• Define and implement automated tests with product developers.
• Document work to promote transparency and reuse.
• Build production-quality systems ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
