Job summary

CrowdStrike is seeking a security researcher to analyze in-the-wild exploits, track adversary behavior, and document exploitation techniques. The role focuses on defensive work in the TAC, with reverse engineering, tooling development, and threat intelligence reporting.

Qualifications include deep knowledge of exploitation techniques, OS proficiency (Windows), Python, and AI-enabled workflows to accelerate vulnerability research and validate findings. Remote work with travel possible.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in exploitation techniques commonly seen in userspace and kernel exploits.
• Knowledge of common network service exploitation techniques.
• Solid understanding of at least two OS platforms, including Windows.

Responsibilities

• Implement tracking systems informing cross-team adversary tracking based on observed exploitation behavior.
• Improve and maintain capabilities for detecting exploits, malicious payloads and other attack vectors.
• Identify opportunities to increase visibility of threats, specifically exploits, using new data sources.
• Maintain understanding of inner workings of relevant exploits through reverse engineering.
• Develop tools to automate exploit analysis tasks via static/dynamic analysis frameworks.
• Create a classification framework for attribution of intrusion activity based on vulnerabilities and exploit characteristics.
• Contribute to active mitigation efforts with technical expertise.
• Develop host-based and network-based signatures for large-scale hunting, detection and prevention.
