Job summary

Happen Bank is seeking a Sr Business Development Manager, SBL to grow its SBA and conventional lending portfolio by developing client relationships and delivering financing solutions for small businesses. You will partner with clients, COIs, and internal teams to originate high-quality loans and provide an exceptional lending experience from qualification to closing.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of SBA lending experience and related education or equivalent experience.
• Experience originating SBA 7(a), 504, and conventional loans.
• Proven ability to develop referral networks and generate new opportunities.
• Strong financial analysis, cash flow, collateral evaluation, and pricing skills.
• Solid understanding of SBA lending programs and commercial underwriting.
• Excellent relationship management, communication, and presentation skills.
• Proactive in growing portfolios while balancing client needs and credit quality.

Responsibilities

• Develop and grow a portfolio of SBA 7(a), 504, and conventional loans while achieving annual production goals and maintaining credit quality.
• Build and maintain referral networks with COIs, CDC offices, and community partnerships.
• Guide clients through lending from pre-qualification to closing, ensuring a positive experience.
• Evaluate opportunities by reviewing financial statements, cash flow, collateral, loan structure, and eligibility.
• Collaborate with credit and operations to prepare loan packages and support underwriting and closing.
• Cross-sell Happen Bank products and deepen client relationships.
• Represent Happen Bank at community events and industry organizations to boost brand and referrals.
