Job summary

Rocket Software in the United States is seeking a Senior Sales Engineer to support Account Executives in new and existing partner relationships and direct business to grow revenue. You will need a sales and technical background in Mainframe Security.

As a Rocket Software Sales Engineer, you will lead technical sales opportunities, work with a dynamic team, and progress and close business independently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8+ years of relevant sales advisory or sales engineering experience.
• Mainframe security experience with AS/400 / IBM i and z/OS.
• Mainframe Modernization experience.
• REST services and other application development skills and experience.
• Strong problem solving and requirements gathering skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and can rapidly learn and take advantage of new concepts and technologies.
• Ability to work independently and engage team support as required.
• Ability to prioritize and manage workload to meet defined deadlines.
• Must be comfortable working in a rapidly changing and sometimes unstructured environment.

• Support partners in all aspects of the sales process.

• Provide ongoing mentoring and guidance on all software components, design techniques, methodology and delivery concept to partners and peers
• Handle objections professionally; answer questions quickly and coherently; deal with challenges assertively and persuasively.
• Self-manage assignments and administrative tasks, managing multiple projects simultaneously from start to finish.
