Job summary

Rocket Software is seeking a Senior Sales Engineer in the United States to support Account Executives and partner relationships, driving new and existing business in mainframe security. The role requires a strong sales and technical background and the ability to lead technical conversations with both business and technical audiences.

You will work independently within a dynamic team, progressing and closing opportunities while aligning with customer needs and Rocket's solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant sales advisory or sales engineering experience.
• Mainframe security experience with AS/400 / IBM i and z/OS.
• Mainframe modernization experience.
• REST services and other application development skills.
• Strong problem solving and requirements gathering skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly motivated with ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload to deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Relate to customer challenges and provide value-based solutions.
• Present solutions to customers and partners with or without sales support.
• Support partners in all aspects of the sales process.
• Convey technical details to non-technical audiences and build credibility with technical audiences.
• Qualify business opportunities by understanding user requirements and technical environments.
• Mentor and guide on software components, design techniques, and delivery concepts to partners and peers.
• Handle objections professionally and respond quickly.
