Job summary

Upgrade is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to architect and build test automation infrastructure. You will design services from scratch, ship them to production clusters, and own them. This is a fully remote role open to US-based candidates.

You will collaborate with product teams to understand automation needs, build agents to streamline QA workflows, and ensure mature quality across microservices and platforms using Java, Python, Kubernetes, and modern testing tools.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years building production software and test infrastructure.
• Experience designing, shipping, and iterating automation frameworks.
• Hands-on with micro-services and Kubernetes in production environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and own automation framework for functional and performance testing.
• Build agents to automate QA workflows and reduce engineering friction.
• Deploy and operate automation services in production clusters.
• Build demos, gather feedback, iterate to hardened, monitored quality.
• Identify gaps in frameworks and drive solutions forward.
