Job summary
Upgrade, Inc. is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to architect and build test automation infrastructure, tooling, and agentic solutions to boost engineering productivity. This role focuses on building automation services that production teams rely on, rather than traditional product QA.
Remote in the US or Canada with collaboration across product teams, enabling rapid demos, iterations, and deployment to production clusters.
Qualifications
- 5-7+ years building production software with test infrastructure
- Proven track record building agentic solutions and test frameworks
- Fluency with agentic coding tools to orchestrate multiple agents
- Hands-on experience with micro-services and Kubernetes
- Ability to take an ambiguous problem statement to a scoped solution independently
Responsibilities
- Design and own automation framework for functional and performance testing
- Build agents to automate QA workflows and remove engineering friction
- Build the applications and services that automation depends on, deploy them to production
- Take prototypes all the way, gather feedback, iterate until hardened and monitored
- Identify gap areas in existing frameworks and implement improvements
