Job summary

CommonSpirit seeks a Coding Auditor and Educator for Professional Fee coding across the enterprise. You will audit and educate on ICD-10-CM, CPT-4, and HCPCS, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance while standardizing coding practices.

You will onboard staff, develop ongoing education programs, and monitor regulatory changes. Working with leadership, you’ll plan short- and long-term improvements to risk adjustment, MEAT criteria, and documentation quality.

Qualifications

• Two years of PB coder audits, education, and training
• Five years of experience coding professional fee records
• CPC/CCS/CCS-P or RHIT/RHIA certification required
• Epic experience mandatory
• Knowledge of Medicare rules and NCCI, ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, modifiers
• Strong organizational, planning, scheduling and project management abilities
• Excellent analytical ability to develop and analyze data for solutions

Responsibilities

• Audit coding accuracy and compliance daily
• Onboard and train new staff; develop ongoing educational programs
• Stay up-to-date with regulatory changes and communicate updates to PB coding teams
• Lead onboarding for new hires on Risk Adjustment, HCCs, and MEAT criteria
• Develop training to keep teams current on health plan requirements
• Foster cross-departmental communication and standardization of practices
• Present educational findings and drive improvements in coding compliance
