Job summary

WSP USA in Houston is seeking a Senior Project Management Area Lead for our Power & Energy Management Team to oversee regional PM activities and guide a team of professionals in delivering Substation and Transmission Line projects across the Texas-Louisiana Region. You will ensure schedules, budgets, and client expectations are met through strong leadership and rigorous PM practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Engineering, Construction Management or related field; PMP considered.
• 15+ years post-education experience in a project management role in Power Delivery/Utility.
• 5+ years leading engineering/construction teams for medium to large electrical utility projects.
• Knowledge of project management processes and tools including Contract, Risk, Schedule, and EVM.

Responsibilities

• Provide PM leadership for Substation and Transmission Line projects in the Texas-Louisiana Region, overseeing budgets, forecasts, margins and KPIs.
• Serve as a PM subject matter expert and ensure compliance with internal standards.
• Support recruitment planning and retention for PM staff.
• Oversee performance reviews and salary adjustment recommendations for direct reports.
• Mentor PMs and ensure strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Lead risk reviews and contract negotiations as needed.
• Ensure QA/QC, risk management, and project documentation are maintained throughout the lifecycle.
