Job summary

WSP seeks a Senior Project Management Area Lead for its Power & Energy Management Team. The role provides leadership and PM oversight for Substation and Transmission Line projects across the Texas-Louisiana Region, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget adherence.

Based in Houston, Austin, or Fort Worth with remote options, you will mentor PMs, drive risk management, and ensure client satisfaction through proactive communication and QA/QC practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Engineering, Construction Management or related field; PMP certification considered.
• 15+ years of relevant post-education PM experience in Power Delivery/Utility industry.
• 5+ years leading engineering/construction teams for medium to large high/extra-high voltage projects.
• Knowledge of PM processes/tools: contract management, earned value, change, risk, schedule (Primavera P6 or equivalent), financial management.
• Advanced analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to mentor staff and lead cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide PM leadership for Substation and Transmission Line projects in the Texas-Louisiana Region.
• Ensure design, budgets, forecasts, margins and KPIs are delivered on time and to quality standards.
• Lead and participate in risk reviews, contract reviews and client presentations.
• Mentor PMs, oversee staffing, and support recruitment and retention efforts.
• Coordinate with technical managers to address resource and subcontracting needs.
