Intuit seeks a senior payroll tax expert and SME to lead end-to-end resolution of payroll tax issues across notices, corrections, and amendments. The role emphasizes technical leadership, coaching junior staff, and driving process improvements in a fast-paced environment.

The position requires 4+ years in payroll tax, deep knowledge of FICA/FUTA/FITW, and experience with multi-state compliance. Strong communication and Excel skills are essential, with CPP/EA a plus.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of payroll tax experience with focus on tax defect resolution across multiple states.
• Expert knowledge of State and Federal payroll tax notice types with ability to draft penalty abatements and agency responses.
• Experience preparing and approving amended Federal (Form 941-X, W-2c) and State returns across multiple states.

Responsibilities

• Resolve the most complex payroll tax notices across multi-quarter and multi-state scenarios, owning end-to-end case lifecycle.
• Prepare and file amended Federal and State payroll tax returns across 10+ states end-to-end, reconciling to original returns.
• Diagnose and resolve payroll tax errors spanning multiple pay periods or jurisdictions; trace discrepancies and drive correction workflows to resolution.
• Maintain high productivity resolving Corrections, Amendments, and Notice resolutions with high accuracy.
• Monitor WIP, identify aging cases and blockers, and propose root-cause resolutions in collaboration with M1.
