Job summary

Intuit, Inc. seeks a Staff Payroll Tax Processor to act as a senior expert on notices, corrections, and amendments. This role leads complex cases across multiple states and serves as a coaching resource for the team, while delivering end-to-end tax defect resolution.

The role focuses on fixing payroll tax problems, preparing amended returns, and transferring knowledge to the group. Remote, part-time role with 20–40 hours weekly and potential overtime pay.

Qualifications

• Experience resolving complex payroll tax notices and amendments across multiple states.
• Ability to draft penalty abatement requests and agency responses with complete documentation.
• Strong written communication for SOPs and knowledge bases.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex State and Federal payroll tax notices, from intake to closure.
• Prepare and file amended Federal and State payroll tax returns (Form 941-X, W-2c) across 10+ states.
• Diagnose payroll tax errors spanning multiple pay periods and jurisdictions; drive corrections.
• Maintain high productivity resolving Corrections, Amendments, and Notice resolutions with accuracy.
• Coach and teach junior staff to build team capability.
• Author, review, and approve SOPs and KB articles; identify recurring errors.
