Qualifications

• 4+ years of payroll tax experience focused on tax defect resolution across multiple states.
• Expert knowledge of state and federal payroll tax notices; ability to draft penalty abatement requests and agency responses.
• Experience preparing amended Federal and State payroll tax returns (941-X, W-2c) across multiple states.
• Knowledge of FICA, FUTA, FITW, deposit schedules, penalties and interest.
• Lead/Senior SME experience; coaching staff.

Responsibilities

• Resolve the most complex State and Federal payroll tax notices in the team’s queue, owning full case lifecycle.
• Prepare and file amended Federal and State payroll tax returns end-to-end across 10+ states.
• Diagnose and resolve payroll tax errors spanning multiple pay periods or jurisdictions.
• Maintain high productivity case resolution with accuracy in corrections and notices.
• Coach Senior Processors and share resolution knowledge to build team capability.
• Identify trends, communicate findings, and drive implementation of resolutions.
