Job summary

Intuit is seeking a Staff Payroll Tax Processor to act as a senior payroll tax expert and SME, owning complex, multi-state tax notices and amendments. The role leads the team in root-cause analysis, drafting agency responses, and guiding colleagues to faster, accurate resolutions.

Responsibilities include preparing amended returns (Federal/state), correcting multi-period payroll tax errors, and transferring knowledge to the team.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of payroll tax experience focusing on tax defect resolution across notices, corrections, and amendments.
• Experience preparing and filing amended Federal/state payroll tax returns (Form 941-X, W-2c) across multiple states.
• Deep knowledge of federal payroll tax law (FICA, FUTA, FITW) and tax payment/filing regulations.
• Experience leading/supervising and coaching junior staff in complex resolution scenarios.
• Strong written communication, able to draft SOPs/KB articles for a tax processor audience.

Responsibilities

• Resolve the most complex state and federal payroll tax notices across multiple jurisdictions.
• Prepare and file amended payroll tax returns across 10+ states end-to-end.
• Diagnose payroll tax errors and drive complete correction workflows to resolution.
• Maintain high productivity resolving correction, amendment, and notice requests with accuracy.
• Coach and mentor Senior Payroll Tax Processors through structured sessions.
