Baker Tilly is seeking a Senior Payroll Consultant to support our Human Resources & Payroll Consulting team. The role focuses on payroll operations, compliance, and process improvement for diverse client engagements.

You will collaborate with experienced team members to navigate complex payroll challenges, handling multistate regulations, tax forms, and payroll system configurations across multiple platforms. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 3 years of payroll experience, ideally in consulting, payroll provider, or in-house payroll function.
• Bachelor degree required; field as listed in job description.
• CPP certification strongly preferred or in progress; certification demonstrates payroll expertise.

Responsibilities

• Support payroll consulting engagements across a range of clients, industries, and geographies.
• Assist in assessing and improving client payroll processes, controls, and procedures.
• Perform multistate payroll compliance reviews, including federal, state, and local regulations.
• Support payroll tax activities, including preparation and review of forms (e.g., 941, 941-X, W-2C).
• Assist with payroll setup and configuration, including earnings, deductions, and tax treatments.
• Analyze payroll data to identify discrepancies, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with internal teams and clients to deliver timely, accurate, and high-quality work.
