Baker Tilly US is seeking a Senior Payroll Consultant within our Human Resources & Payroll Consulting team to support client engagements across payroll operations, compliance, and process improvement. Qualifications

• 3 years of payroll experience in consulting, payroll provider, or in-house function.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Strong understanding of payroll processes, compliance, and multistate regulations.
• Experience with payroll tax forms and filings (e.g., 941, 941-X, W-2C).
• Familiarity with payroll systems such as ADP, Workday, SAP, Oracle/PeopleSoft, Paycom, Paycor or similar.

Responsibilities

• Support payroll consulting engagements across a range of clients, industries, and geographies.
• Assist in assessing and improving client payroll processes, controls, and procedures.
• Perform multistate payroll compliance reviews (federal, state, local).
• Support payroll tax activities, including preparation and review of forms (e.g., 941, 941-X, W-2C).
• Assist with payroll setup and configuration (earnings, deductions, tax treatments).
• Analyze payroll data to identify discrepancies, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Support reviews related to employee classification, wage treatment, overtime calculations.
• Research and apply payroll regulations including reciprocity and multistate considerations.
• Collaborate with internal teams and clients to deliver timely, accurate work.
