Jobot in the United States is seeking a Senior Mortgage Underwriter for a primarily remote role with occasional onsite meetings. You will evaluate Conventional, FHA, and VA loans and ensure compliance with investor guidelines.

Qualifications

• Active FHA Direct Endorsement (DE) and VA SAR/LAPP underwriting approval.
• Minimum 5 years of mortgage underwriting experience.
• Strong customer service mindset with a collaborative approach.
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally with mortgage and lending partners.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational, planning, and time-management skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel for data organization and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite Conventional, FHA, and VA loans per investor guidelines.
• Submit files through automated underwriting systems and evaluate results.
• Approve or pend loans and present files to loan committee.
• Support branch partners with underwriting scenarios and questions.
• Maintain a 24–48 hour turnaround on new submissions and resubmissions.
• Ensure accurate loan documentation and proper file maintenance.
• Utilize office systems and tools to support underwriting operations.
