Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Senior Mortgage Underwriter to turn homeownership dreams into reality. This primarily remote role includes occasional onsite meetings to collaborate with the team.

You will underwrite Conventional, FHA, and VA loans and guide files through automated underwriting, with a focus on accuracy and timely decisions. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of mortgage underwriting experience, FHA DE and VA SAR/LAPP approvals, and strong Excel data skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of mortgage underwriting experience.
• Active FHA Direct Endorsement (DE) and VA SAR/LAPP underwriting approval.
• Strong customer service mindset with a collaborative, solution-oriented approach.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite Conventional, FHA, and VA loans per investor and agency guidelines.
• Submit files through automated underwriting systems and evaluate results.
• Approve or pend loans and present qualifying files to loan committee.
• Serve as a trusted underwriting resource for branch partners on complex scenarios.
• Maintain a 24–48 hour turnaround on new submissions and resubmissions.
• Ensure accurate loan documentation and proper file maintenance.
• Utilize office systems and tools to support efficient underwriting operations.
