Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Senior Mortgage Underwriter to play a crucial role in approving Conventional, FHA, and VA loans. You will evaluate files, ensure adherence to investor guidelines, and support branch partners with complex scenarios from a primarily remote setting with occasional onsite meetings.

Qualifications

• Active FHA Direct Endorsement (DE) and VA SAR/LAPP underwriting approval.
• Minimum 5 years of mortgage underwriting experience.
• Strong customer service mindset with a collaborative approach.
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally with mortgage and lending partners.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Comfort with Microsoft Excel for data organization and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite Conventional, FHA, and VA loans per guidelines.
• Submit files through underwriting systems and evaluate results.
• Approve or pend loans and present files to loan committee.
• Support branch partners with scenarios and complex files.
• Maintain a 24–48 hour turnaround on new submissions.
• Ensure accurate loan documentation and file maintenance.
• Utilize office systems to support underwriting operations.
