Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Senior Mortgage Underwriter to evaluate Conventional, FHA, and VA loan applications remotely, with occasional onsite meetings. You will process files, determine loan eligibility, and present decisions to the loan committee while supporting branch partners with complex scenarios.

Candidates should have at least five years of mortgage underwriting experience, DE/VA approvals, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Active FHA Direct Endorsement (DE) and VA SAR/LAPP underwriting approval.
• Minimum 5 years of mortgage underwriting experience.
• Strong customer service mindset with a collaborative, solution-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite Conventional, FHA, and VA loans per investor and agency guidelines.
• Submit files through automated underwriting systems and evaluate results.
• Approve or pend loans and present files to loan committee.
• Serve as underwriting resource for branch partners on complex files.
• Maintain a 24–48 hour turnaround on new submissions and resubmissions.
• Ensure accurate loan documentation and proper file maintenance.
• Utilize office systems to support underwriting operations.
