Job summary

WEX Mobility is seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Mobility Mobile Engineering organization, responsible for iOS and Android applications serving thousands of customer interactions. You will lead an engineering team, shape culture, and partner with Product, Design, Architecture, Security, and Infrastructure to deliver high‑quality mobile experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• 4+ years of engineering management experience leading software engineering teams.
• Experience leading development and delivery of native iOS and Android apps or cross‑platform mobile apps (React Native or Flutter).
• Strong understanding of modern mobile architectures, app lifecycle management, and software best practices.
• Strong communication, organizational, stakeholder management, and decision‑making skills.
• Solid understanding of security, privacy, authentication, authorization, and data protection for mobile apps.
• Experience leveraging automation and AI-assisted development tools to improve quality and velocity.
• Strong people leadership including hiring, coaching, performance management, and career development for mobile teams.

Responsibilities

• Define, own, and execute the long‑term engineering strategy for the Mobility Mobile Experience.
• Partner with architects to define the technical vision and architecture.
• Develop and maintain the engineering roadmap aligned with business priorities.
• Foster a culture of innovation, learning, collaboration, ownership, and operational excellence.
• Improve engineering processes to increase delivery velocity, quality, and productivity.
• Lead cross‑functional initiatives from planning to execution across teams.
• Collaborate with Product, UX, and business leaders to prioritize investments for mobile experiences.
• Establish and monitor engineering metrics to improve delivery, quality, reliability, and team effectiveness.
• Plan, execute, and review sprint planning, roadmaps, and operations reviews.
• Partner with Product to maintain a healthy roadmap with measurable OKRs.
• Promote reusable platforms, shared components, and best practices across Mobility teams.
• Hire, develop, mentor, and retain high‑performing engineering managers and engineers.
• Provide regular coaching and career development to team members.
• Manage team capacity and staffing for strategic priorities.
• Communicate strategy, progress, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership.
