Job summary

GE Vernova seeks a seasoned Electrical Engineer to lead protection and control designs for transmission, distribution, and renewables. You will ensure reliable grid operation, mentor design teams, and collaborate with IEEE standards committees.

The role requires a PE license and 10+ years in protection schemes, relay coordination, and substation analysis, with travel up to 10% across client sites in the United States.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Professional Engineer license is required.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in protection schemes, relay selection, and operational analysis for transmission and distribution substations.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in design reviews and technical mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Design, review, and stamp protection schemes, electrical schematics, and relay settings for substations, data centers, and battery energy storage systems.
• Coordinate technical aspects of power substation projects to ensure safe operation, reviewing load flow, fault, and relay coordination studies.
• Mentor secondary design teams, establish technical standards, develop design templates, and lead root cause analyses.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, and IEEE standards committees to advance industry practices.
