Job summary

Electric Power Engineers, LLC is seeking a Senior Protection & Controls Engineering Manager to lead protection design and coordination analyses for transmission systems. The role focuses on designing protection schemes, tuning protective relays, and ensuring NERC PRC compliance to uphold grid reliability.

Ideal candidates have a strong power systems background, experience with protection software, and a track record of leading projects in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

PE license required (TX, IL, or CA).
8+ years of experience in system protection and control.
Strong background in transmission protection and planning.
Experience with protection software and transmission modeling tools.
Experience with SEL equipment and Quickset.

Responsibilities

Lead system protection and coordination studies for transmission networks.
Develop protection philosophies and standards for clients.
Configure protective relay settings for 69–500 kV systems.
Verify NERC PRC compliance and reliability objectives.
Guide clients to improve system reliability and operations.
