Job summary

GE Vernova’s Grid Automation Team seeks a lead Customer Project Support Engineer to own the design, programming, testing, and commissioning of protection, SCADA, telecom, and control panels for power infrastructure equipment.

The role partners with Operations and Project Management to deliver complex grid modernization projects from concept to commissioning, with scope across generator, transformer, and distribution panels and systems. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 5+ years in panel design, specs, wiring diagrams for relay protection.
• Strong knowledge of power systems and protection schemes.
• Experience with protection relays (UR Family) or third-party relays.
• Experience with AutoCAD/Ebase/SAP/Oracle tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design protection and control panels and related diagrams per user specs.
• Take full technical execution responsibility for assigned projects.
• Perform load and thermal analyses as required.
• Develop test plans and participate in factory and field testing.
• Provide field support up to commissioning and troubleshooting.
• Travel up to 10% as project needs require.
• Prepare training materials for team members.
