Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Power System Protection and Control Engineer to execute engineering and consulting services across transmission, distribution and industrial markets in the US and Canada. You will design, test, commission and optimize protection solutions for electric utilities and industrial clients.

The role requires a Bachelor or higher degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, 5 years of experience, and eligibility for a Professional Engineer license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or higher degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• Five (5) years of experience in design, study, and analysis of electric power systems.
• Must hold or be eligible to obtain a Professional Engineer license in at least one state

Responsibilities

• Design and delivery of complex protection solutions for generation, transmission, distribution systems.
• Perform engineering studies and analyses (short circuit, load flow, insulation coordination, arc-flash, etc.).
• Create relay setting files including programming of Protection and Control Elements, Control Logic and Communications settings for GE and third-party relays.
• Test protection and control solutions in house and at customer installations.
• Provide factory acceptance test plans and testing services for customer witness.
• Site acceptance test planning and field support up to commissioning of new applications.
• Assist software tool development to automate the engineering process with key utility partners.
• Participate in project meetings with project managers and customers on technical discussions
