Job summary

Fidus Systems is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Designer to lead BSP-level software for embedded Linux, RTOS, and bare-metal systems, driving device drivers and FPGA SoC integration while collaborating with hardware and software teams.

You will mentor engineers, set technical direction, and work closely with customers to deliver maintainable, high-quality code across communication, networking, and video applications. Remote-ready and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years BSP-level software development in embedded Linux/RTOS/bare-metal
• Minimum 2 years as a technical lead with leadership in project teams and architecture
• Expertise in embedded software for communication, networking, and video apps
• Strong experience with embedded Linux, Yocto or PetaLinux, builds, kernels, and drivers
• Experience with FPGA SoCs, especially Xilinx or equivalent
• Proficiency in C, C++, and assembly; knowledge of Python/Bash/TCL

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to embedded software projects across communication, networking, and video applications
• Develop and maintain BSP-level software for embedded Linux, RTOS, and bare-metal systems
• Implement device drivers and manage kernel configurations
• Design and debug software for FPGA SoCs and hardware integration
• Collaborate on HW/SW/FPGA integration and interpret schematics/datasheets
• Mentor and lead project teams to ensure high-quality outcomes
• Work with customers to understand requirements and deliver solutions
• Stay current with emerging technologies and introduce innovative approaches
