Job summary

Fidus Systems is a global high-tech design firm active in Ottawa and beyond, seeking a Senior Embedded Software Designer. You will lead BSP-level software development for embedded Linux/RTOS, implement device drivers, and drive architectures across FPGA/SoC hardware.

Mentorship and customer collaboration are key. Fully remote with ~20% travel, you’ll work with cross-functional teams on space, communications, and automotive projects, emphasizing maintainable, high-quality code and modern design

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent required.
• Minimum 8 years of BSP-level software experience in embedded Linux/RTOS/bare-metal.
• Experience leading project teams and setting technical direction.
• Strong in embedded software design for communication, networking, and video apps.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to embedded software projects across multiple domains.
• Develop BSP-level software for embedded Linux/RTOS and device drivers.
• Collaborate on HW/SW/FPGA integration and mentoring of designers.
• Engage with customers to gather requirements and ensure quality outcomes.
