Job summary

Grafana Labs is seeking a Senior Director, Solutions Engineering for the Americas to build and lead a high-performing Solutions Engineering team. You will co-create the regional technical sales strategy with sales leadership and partner with Customer Experience, Marketing, Product, and Engineering to drive adoption and expansion across our customer base.

You are a technical leader who can jump into demos, address tough objections, and help accelerate deals.

Qualifications

3+ years in a Director-level role leading a team.
5–10 years in high tech in technical roles (Developer, Architect, Sales Engineer/Architect, Manager, etc.).
Hands-on approach to technology; stay current on product and demos.
Experience selling monitoring, data, or visualization products.
Track record in a fast-paced, remote-first startup environment.
Experience mentoring, developing, and managing team performance over time.
Experience with formal sales methodology (e.g., MEDDPICC or similar).
Owns a book of business and directs team work to exceed quarterly targets.
Open-source selling or cloud-first/PLG GTM experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Recruit, ramp, and mentor presales SE leaders and ICs across diverse backgrounds.
Know products and demos well to engage in customer conversations and move deals forward.
Own region numbers (ARR, NRR, pipeline, forecast cadence).
Act as executive sponsor for key accounts and support evaluations, demos, POVs.
Collaborate with Sales leadership on customer programs and events.
