Job summary

Coalition, Inc. is seeking an experienced underwriter to drive profitable business with a focus on enterprise clients (~$1B+ revenue). You will underwrite, manage complex accounts, and partner with brokers and the Sales organization to protect digital risk for clients.

This remote opportunity can be based anywhere in the Northeast, with a strong preference for New York City. You will collaborate across Security, Claims, Product, Actuarial, and CPU to shape portfolio strategy and pricing while

Qualifications

• 5+ years of underwriting experience, including deep experience in cyber and Technology E&O.
• Experience underwriting large/enterprise accounts (~$1B+ revenue) and managing a profitable book.
• Expertise analyzing complex cyber and Tech E&O risks and impact on underwriting, pricing, and portfolio outcomes.
• Ability to mentor other underwriters and influence underwriting culture.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and manage Coalition’s largest and most complex new and renewal accounts.
• Shape portfolio strategy through management of broker relationships responsible for placing Coalition’s largest and most complex accounts.
• Maintain disciplined underwriting files, documentation, and internal tool usage in line with Coalition’s workflows and governance standards.
• Lead highly complex negotiations on pricing, terms, structures, and exception requests in line with risk appetite, carrier requirements, and close partnership with CPU.
• Serve as Coalition’s senior underwriting face for priority brokers, strategic clients, and flagship accounts, including executive-level discussions and regional market leadership.
• Provide mentorship to other underwriters, helping raise the bar on underwriting discipline, broker communication, and deal strategy.
• Represent Underwriting in cross-functional strategy discussions tied to portfolio optimization, product evolution, and market growth.
• Partner with Coalition’s security team, Claims, Product, Actuarial, and CPU to address complex risk issues and translate technical, wording, and portfolio considerations into sound underwriting decisions.
• Regular travel required for senior broker relationship management, client meetings, broker education, and market-facing leadership activity.
