Job summary

Tokio Marine HCC is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Underwriter to develop and manage a profitable middle-market construction book. This remote role requires at least 5 years of E&S construction underwriting, with a track record of handling larger, complex contractor accounts.

You will work with brokers, maintain documentation, and ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines while pursuing professional designations to advance expertise.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of E&S construction underwriting experience.
• Experience underwriting middle-market construction accounts.
• Ability to work independently and build a territory with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with underwriting guidelines and policy documentation processes.
• Pursuing professional designations (RPLU, CPCU, AU, CIC) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate new and renewal policy applications to classify risk and determine pricing.
• Maintain documentation for binders, worksheets, and broker communications.
• Adhere to underwriting authority and company policies.
• Develop understanding of rating factors influencing policy pricing.
• Support and advise other staff on underwriting procedures.
