Job summary

TransEleven Claims Managers (TCM) seeks a qualified attorney for the Senior Claims Counsel role to manage a high-volume portfolio across professional and general liability matters. The position is 100% remote after initial training at our corporate offices in Allen, TX, with residency allowed anywhere in the United States.

You will oversee claims administration and litigation management, including retaining outside counsel, negotiations, mediations, and reporting.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years of experience as an attorney in insurance litigation, insurance defense and/or professional and general liability claims administration.
• JD (Juris Doctor) from an accredited law school.
• Licensed as an attorney (in good standing) in at least one state (State Bar member).
• Exceptional writing skills; writing samples required.
• Excellent verbal and video communication skills (frequent international video calls).
• Command of Office 365 software (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, etc.).
• Experience with claims software/file management systems (e.g., FileHandler) and client billing.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a close-knit team.
• Commitment to ethical legal practices and regulatory/professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee claims administration and litigation management for a portfolio of claim files from initial coverage and claims analysis through resolution.
• Retain and manage outside counsel, negotiations, mediations, settlement conferences, invoice and expense management, and complex reporting to all parties.
• Engage in high-level problem solving, legal analysis and negotiations.
