Job summary

TransEleven Claims Managers (TCM) seeks a Senior Claims Counsel to oversee a portfolio of insurance litigation matters with high volume, across PL/GL practice areas. The role offers a 100% remote work arrangement after initial training at our Allen, TX office.

Ideal candidates have 4–7 years of experience as an attorney in insurance defense or liability, JD, Bar admission, and strong writing and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of experience as an attorney in insurance litigation, insurance defense and/or professional and general liability claims administration.
• Licensed Insurance Adjuster (or willingness to obtain this and other required certifications)
• JD (Juris Doctor) from an accredited law school
• Licensed as an attorney (in good standing) in at least one state (valid State Bar member)
• Exceptional writing skills due to the level of report writing (writing samples required)
• Excellent verbal and video communication skills (frequent international video calls)
• Command of Office 365 software (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, etc.)
• We prefer previous experience working with claims software/file management systems (e.g., FileHandler) and client billing
• Ability to work independently and as a part of a close-knit team
• Commitment to ethical legal practices and compliance with all regulatory/professional standards

Responsibilities

• Oversee claims administration and litigation management for a portfolio of claim files, from initial coverage and claims analysis through resolution, including retaining and management of outside counsel, negotiations, mediations, settlement conferences, invoice and expense management and complex reporting to all parties.
• Engage in high-level problem solving, legal analysis and negotiations.
