Job summary

Ensono is hiring a Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer – CICS to provide premium support for CICS TS and related OEM software. The role involves delivering 24x7x365 service across multiple time zones, coordinating core mainframe activities, and guiding customer migrations with a strong emphasis on best practices and ITSM processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required and/or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years experience on the zSeries (mainframe) platform including hands-on technical experience related to CICS TS and OEM product support.
• Thorough working knowledge of CICS TS capabilities and installation/tailoring of CICS TS and related OEM products.
• Thorough working knowledge and experience with IBM’s SMP/E.
• Strong analytical skills and understanding of CICS TS concepts, configuration and tailoring.
• Thorough working knowledge of products used to monitor performance of CICS TS regions.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Must be able to multi-task and work under short deadlines and in high pressure situations.
• Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentations).
• Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill CSOs for mainframe z/OS customers in relation to CICS TS.
• Provide primary support for reported CICS TS and OEM product issues.
• Provide 24x7x365 support across multiple time zones.
• Follow procedures for installing OEM software per Ensono standards.
• Prepare customer partitions for annual OS upgrade via a proactive checklist.
• Provide support for customer migrations related to CICS TS and OEM products.
• Assist the project manager with migration of newly acquired customers.
• Collaborate with Disaster Recovery Services to execute DR plans.
• Adhere to a schedule that efficiently manages resources and timelines.
• Follow ITSM change control procedures and implement fixes.
• Upgrade, maintain, enhance or provide new options to z/OS products.
