Job summary

Ensono is seeking a Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer to provide installation, upgrade, testing, configuration, and implementation of ISV software in a largely remote US-based environment. You will handle on-call support, incident resolution, and contribute to technical projects with deep z/OS knowledge.

The ideal candidate brings 7+ years in a mainframe setting, strong TSO/ISPF/SDSF/JCL and SMP/E skills, and excellent problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7+ years of mainframe experience in a large enterprise.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Knowledge of z/OS and z/OS installation and maintenance including SMP/E.
• Strong knowledge of TSO/ISPF, SDSF, JCL.
• Strong knowledge of Unix System Services (USS).
• Strong knowledge of USS file system management and security.
• Ability to perform skill set of a Mainframe System Programmer.
• Ability to perform moderately complex ISV installations.
• Ability to work well as a team member.
• Stress resistant in major incidents or emergencies.
• Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Customer service skills at management level.
• Good collaboration and teamwork skills.
• Self-motivated with initiative and learning ability.

Responsibilities

• Handle incidents, changes and problems related to z/OS and ISV software.
• Configure and customize z/OS and related product software.
• Setup parameters and perform installations (ISV).
• Communicate with vendors and participate in technical projects.
• Provide on-call support and assist troubleshooting and problem resolution.
• Demonstrate solid understanding of z/OS and related products.
