Job summary

GovCIO is seeking an experienced C# / ASP.NET Application Engineer to maintain and enhance a SQL Server‑backed web application. The role requires strong C# and ASP.NET skills, T‑SQL expertise, SSIS development, and AD/IIS familiarity.

The position is fully remote within the United States. You will work across the full stack, optimize databases, manage SQL Server Agent jobs, deploy SSIS packages, and collaborate with DBAs, security teams, and admins.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of professional experience or equivalent
• Strong C# and ASP.NET expertise
• Solid T‑SQL and SQL Server administration skills
• Hands‑on SSIS development and troubleshooting
• Experience with Active Directory and Windows Authentication
• SQL Server Agent job management
• Familiarity with IIS administration
• Git‑based development workflow
• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve ASP.NET (MVC/Web API/Web Forms) applications
• Support SQL Server databases: queries, indexing, performance tuning
• Update and deploy SSIS packages
• Manage SQL Server Agent jobs and troubleshoot failures
• Design, query, and manage relational databases (SQL Server)
• Configure and support AD authentication and IIS settings
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and debug issues across the full application stack
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including DBAs and security teams
• Maintain documentation and follow secure coding practices
• Write clean, maintainable, well‑documented code following .NET standards
• Optimize data models and database architectures for performance
• Participate in code reviews and uphold .NET best practices
• Stay current with .NET updates and Microsoft ecosystem
