Job summary

Affirm is seeking a Bank Controller to lead the accounting function during a pivotal growth phase. You will build and guide the banking accounting team, coordinate with cross‑functional partners, and ensure timely financial reporting to regulatory bodies and stakeholders.

You will own the regulatory filings process, coordinate external audits, and drive automation with engineering/product teams. A CPA/CA and 10+ years in accounting/finance are expected, with 5+ years in people management.

Qualifications

• CPA or CA designation required.
• 10+ years of experience in Accounting, Finance or Treasury‑related areas.
• 5+ years of people management experience.
• Experience building tools and processes and scaling an Accounting team.
• Extensive knowledge of GAAP and regulatory reporting.
• Proven analysis, cash management, and modeling experience.
• Detail oriented with strong critical thinking.
• Strategic, goal driven, can‑do attitude.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the Bank accounting team, providing strategic direction, recruitment, and coaching as we establish the function.
• Serve as a primary liaison with cross‑functional partners.
• Oversee all monthly financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies.
• Build a regulated, timely regulatory reporting function for filings (FFIEC 041 Call Reports, Part 363 Annual Reports, Fed reporting).
• Coordinate with external auditors for annual bank financial statement audits.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to drive accounting/reporting automation.
• Manage financial analysis and projects as required.
