MCGARITY CONSULTING GROUP staffing a contingent senior accessibility advisory role for a DHS program. Position is remote and project-based; work begins after award.

The senior advisor will quality-review others' testing, advise teams and management on accessibility decisions, and may back-up the government program when needed. Qualified candidates hold DHS Trusted Tester Level 5 and IAAP CPACC, with extensive Section 508 experience across web content and documents.

Qualifications

• Current DHS Trusted Tester Level 5 certification and IAAP CPACC.
• Broad knowledge of the Revised Section 508 Standards.
• Two years testing web content for Section 508 conformance.
• Three years supporting ICT project and acquisition efforts addressing Section 508 requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform Section 508 conformance testing using the DHS Trusted Tester Conformance Test Process for Web, v5.0 or later.
• Review test results from other Trusted Testers for accuracy and conformance to guidelines.
• Perform document remediation using Section 508 Tests for Documents endorsed by the Federal CIO Council.
• Provide technical assistance on ACRs and VPATs; develop test plans and remediation guidance.
• Advise project teams and senior management on accessibility risk across lifecycle stages and design standards.
• Serve as back-up to the government accessibility program as needed.
