Job summary
Ad Hoc LLC is seeking an Accessibility Specialist to lead modernization efforts for federal civilian projects in a remote role. You will balance remediation of existing accessibility issues with long-term risk reduction while guiding engineering, design, QA, and stakeholder teams to embed accessibility throughout the product lifecycle.
You will ensure WCAG 2.1 AA and Section 508 conformance, implement automated testing in CI/CD with axe-core, Pa11y, and ANDI, and mentor teams to build broader
Qualifications
- Deep knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA and Section 508 requirements.
- Hands-on testing with automated and manual methods.
- Experience with assistive technologies (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver).
- Ability to prioritize accessibility work and guide technical conversations.
Responsibilities
- Lead accessibility audits across Design System and pipeline to identify systemic issues.
- Remediate high-impact accessibility issues across components and patterns.
- Develop and maintain prioritization framework based on risk, impact, and reach.
- Partner with UX, engineering, QA, and stakeholders to embed accessibility in the lifecycle.
- Support WCAG 2.1 AA conformance across real-world implementations.
- Strengthen CI/CD accessibility testing with relevant tools.
