Job summary

NMS provides remote security services and seeks a Remote Security Sergeant to lead operations at client facilities, ensuring safety, policy compliance, and efficient staffing. The role emphasizes incident handling and coordination with clients and authorities to deliver reliable service.

The position is based in Anchorage, AK, with a two weeks on/two weeks off schedule and camp-environment requirements. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of five (5) years of full-time professional experience in security, law enforcement, or military service.
• Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience in a related field.
• Ability to obtain Alaska Guard License prior to beginning work.
• Ability to obtain a State of Alaska Armed Guard License upon hire.
• Demonstrated training and instructional skills, including the ability to develop position-specific training and deliver quarterly general security training.
• Experience handling handguns and the ability to meet State of Alaska firearms qualification requirements.
• Working knowledge of the Incident Command System (ICS).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other contract-specific software applications.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily security operations and personnel assigned to client facilities.
• Assign personnel to posts and patrols while ensuring appropriate staffing levels.
• Interpret and enforce security policies, procedures, and post orders.
• Develop and maintain an understanding of client operational needs and document business processes.
• Translate business needs into functional requirements and prepare supporting documentation.
• Prepare employee work schedules and review leave requests for approval or denial.
• Maintain ongoing communication with clients to address security concerns and improve service delivery.
• Receive, review, and resolve incident reports and other security-related documentation.
• Administer required reports, records, and other business-related documentation.
• Conduct and assist with security investigations as required.
• Review reports involving property damage and security events to determine corrective actions.
• Coordinate with law enforcement, emergency responders, and other agencies as necessary.
• Maintain post orders and operational procedures.
• Serve in an on-call capacity during off-duty hours as required.
• Assume Incident Command responsibilities when appropriate.
