Job summary

Pearson is hiring for an Associate, Scoring Services role focused on evaluating MA teacher candidates remotely. The position emphasizes scoring against established standards while maintaining confidentiality and meeting quality targets.

Training and flexible scheduling are provided to support productivity. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher, a teaching certification in the subject area, or relevant college faculty experience.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher, and a current teaching certification in the subject area you are applying for.
  • OR serve as, or have recently served as, a college/university faculty member who prepares candidates for the subject.
  • OR who holds a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree and is a graduate student currently teaching courses in the subject area.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate responses to test questions by Massachusetts teacher candidates.
  • Internalize scoring standards, participate in discussions, and engage with other scorers in consensus scoring activities.
  • Recognize and discuss bias types and apply strategies to reduce personal biases in scoring.
  • Meet quality and productivity requirements established for the scoring program, including passing a qualifying test.
  • Rate of $17.50 per hour.
  • Working remotely.
