Job summary

Pearson is seeking remote scorers for Massachusetts teacher licensure subjects. You will evaluate responses, internalize scoring standards, and participate in consensus scoring activities. Candidates may work remotely with flexible hours and must meet state qualifications.

Positions are non-benefit eligible, with training provided and an emphasis on maintaining confidentiality and professional standards. Eligible to work in the United States is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher is required and you must be practicing or have two or more years of recent experience in the subject area in a public school.
• A current teaching certification in the subject area you are applying for and eligibility to work in the United States.
• Alternative: college/university faculty member preparing candidates for the subject, or graduate student teaching courses in the subject area.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate responses to test questions by Massachusetts teacher candidates.
• Internalize scoring standards and engage with scorers in consensus scoring activities.
• Recognize and discuss various bias types and strategies to reduce personal biases in scoring.
• Meet quality and productivity requirements for the scoring program, including passing a qualifying test before scoring.
• Score remotely on defined subjects and schedules.
