Job summary

Pearson Evaluation offers remote scoring positions for multiple subjects including Business, Health, School Counselor, and Theater. A current teaching certification (or equivalent educator background) is required, with recent school teaching or content-relevant employment in the last three years.

Basic computer skills and US work eligibility are also needed. Starting rate is $17.50 per hour with remote work remaining the norm.

Qualifications

• Must have a current teaching certification in the subject area and have taught in schools within the last three years (including regular substitute).
• Or have been educators from colleges/universities who taught or advised a relevant field within the last three years.
• Or hold a degree in the content area and have held professional employment in the content area within the last three years.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate responses to test questions by New York teacher candidates.
• Internalize scoring standards and participate in discussions with other scorers.
• Engage in consensus scoring activities and discuss bias to reduce personal biases in scoring.
• Meet quality and productivity requirements for scoring and pass a qualifying test.
