Job summary

Pearson is hiring for scoring roles conducted remotely for candidates in the United States with a starting rate of $17.50 per hour. This position supports evaluation of NY teacher licensing content and requires current teaching credentials or recent related experience.

Training and remote scoring sessions are provided, with occasional orientation and regular weekday schedules. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States and be able to sit for extended periods.

Qualifications

• Current teaching certification in the subject area you are applying for and currently teaching or have taught in schools within the last three years (including regular substitute).
• Or educators from colleges/universities who have taught or advised a content relevant field within the last three years.
• Or hold a degree in the content area and have held professional employment in the content area within the last three years.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate responses to test questions by New York teacher candidates.
• Internalize scoring standards and participate in consensus scoring activities with other scorers.
• Recognize and discuss various biases and strategies to reduce personal biases in scoring.
• Meet quality and productivity requirements and pass a qualifying test before scoring.
• Starting rate of $17.50 per hour.
• Work remotely.
