Job summary

Pearson is seeking qualified individuals to score Massachusetts teacher licensing responses remotely for Hadley, MA. The Associate, Scoring Services role supports scoring consistency and adherence to standards, with opportunities to work from home and periodic training sessions.

Required are a bachelor’s degree or higher and an active teaching certification in the subject area, plus 2+ years' recent public school experience in the subject.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree or higher, and
• A current teaching certification in the subject area you are applying for and be practicing or have two (2) or more years' recent experience in the service role in a public school in the subject area you are applying for
• OR serve as, or have recently served as, a college/university/program faculty member who prepares candidates for the subject you are applying for
• OR who holds a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree and is a graduate student currently teaching courses in the subject area
• Both active and recently retired practitioners can be eligible to score.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate responses to test questions by Massachusetts teacher candidates
• Internalize scoring standards, participate in discussions, and engage with other scorers in consensus scoring activities
• Recognize and discuss bias types and apply strategies to reduce personal biases in scoring
• Meet quality and productivity requirements established for the scoring program, including passing a qualifying test before scoring
• Rate of $17.50 per hour
